This 52W x 40H Community Message Center is great for university campuses, schools, parks, hospitals, hotels, apartment complexes and golf courses. The sliding door offers a fully viewable display surface. The plastic lumber material is environmentally friendly in that it is made from recycled material. The outdoor message center can be easily mounted to walls or posts.

LEEDS standard H.D.P.E lasts longer and is maintenance free.

LEEDS standard H.D.P.E (High density polyethylene) is maintenance free material. The plastic material is non-porous so it will not absorb stains or water. This makes them able to resist salt, gas, oil, water and bird droppings. It is also termite and mold proof. The plastic is pigmented all the way through so the color does not fade in sunlight. However, in extreme temperatures plastic may expand and crack. While water-resistant, the boards are not waterproof so you can add a weather strip door kit or install in a sheltered location.

High Density Polyethylene is often specified by architects and government agencies due to its long lasting, maintenance free properties. The case is held together with fasteners and because the material is high density its screw retention is 30% greater than ordinary lumber. The screws are countersunk and covered with plugs so there are no visible screw heads. The finished back panel is 1/2 inch thick plastic lumber which looks great on posts and adds structural integrity to the cabinet.

Increased viewing area

The sliding glass doors increase the viewing area of the 52W x 40H Sliding Door Message Center because the high-impact acrylic doors overlap and do not need a divider. This type of enclosed bulletin board is great for narrow or high traffic corridors because the doors slide parallel to the mounting surface, unlike the hinged units which swing out.

High-Impact acrylic , quiet ball bearings, glides easily

The 1/4 inch high-impact acrylic glides easily on non-rusting nylon rollers which are quieter than ball bearings. There are plastic finger pulls laminated to the window centered on each side. Lockable door (ratchet lock) protects against vandalism while controlling access to posting surface. Two keys included.

Mounting Posts

Due to supply chain issues and the recent increases in energy and motor freight costs we are unable to economically ship the posts to mount the message center. However, cedar posts, outdoor pressure treated lumber or plastic decking lumber is readily available at local building supply centers for hundreds of dollars less than we can ship them.

Bulletin Board

A bulletin board is included inside the cabinet. It is a thick self sealing natural cork surface laminated to 5/8 inch fiberboard and wrapped with satin anodized aluminum frame. The bulletin board is attached with screws and is easily replaceable if necessary.

Optional letter board

An optional directory board is made from 1/2 inch thick fiberboard with grooves cut on every 1/4 inch increment and covered with vinyl that is pleated into the grooves which slides into the case channel. The letter board holds the standard plastic directory letters with molded tabs. The fiberboard is sealed with an aluminum moisture barrier and silicone sealant.

Message center dimensions

The case dimensions are 52W x 40H and 5-1/2 inch exterior depth, 8 inch rain cover depth. The main case frame is 3/4 inch wide and the door frame is 1-1/2 inch. This reduces the visible area to 48.5W x 35.5H. The interior space between the door and the cork board is 3-3/4 inch.
