There are a number or reasons that business owners can benefit from having a permanent display to give information to potential customers. And while having a sign is a must for any store to be taken seriously, it can also be a good idea to purchase stencils to withstand any weather condition.

Business owners can use the stencils for a number of different things, including marking spaces in their parking lots. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, all businesses must make a number of handicapped spaces available for customers in close proximity to the entrance of the store.

"Accessible parking spaces for cars have at least a 60-inch-wide access aisle located adjacent to the designated parking space," the ADA states. "The access aisle is just wide enough to permit a person using a wheelchair to enter or exit the car. These parking spaces are identified with a sign and located on level ground."

By purchasing a handicapped parking stencil, a business owner can comply with the federal law and use the same item multiple times to designate the spaces. Nothing can be more damaging for a business than receiving a fine for not devoting the right number of spots to the disabled community.

Other types of stencils could mean more sales for entrepreneurs. If a business wants to attract people to its front door, it can purchase an arrow stencil that will point them in the right direction. This can be especially helpful if the business is located in a hard-to-find location. By having an arrow pointing to the entrance, first-time shoppers will be able to get to the door and see what a business has to sell. Sometimes a person will give up on trying to enter a store if it is too difficult to figure out how to get inside.

The relatively inexpensive sign will be a permanent guide that may result in more loyal customers for years to come. It could also be a good idea to hire a professional to complete the job, because once a stencil is painted it can be difficult to remove.

In almost any business, a stencil sign will help give people guidance and information about location. The investment is sure to pay off when more customers see the added displays.
