Shadow Box Display Case is nearly as cherishable as your keepsakes. The shadow box measures 18W x 24H and is available in three hand stained wood finishes. The cabinet includes a clear acrylic window and beautiful fabric covered back board.

Stronger framing system
Solid oak frames are selected from a single species source so each shadow box cabinet looks consistent in appearance. The shadow box case corners are mitered, glued and fastened.
Stylish fabric background
A top-quality, 1/32 inch self-sealing natural cork is laminated to 7/16 inch fiberboard which is seated and fastened in a rabbit channel. The cork board can be optionally covered with fire retardant fabric to create a colorful, stylish background surface. The fire retardant fabric complies with NFPA Standard No. 101 CLASS A.
Clear acrylic window
The case frame holds a durable, 1/8 inch acrylic window so keepsakes can be seen but not touched. The window slides in from the top has into grooves along the sides.
Narrow profile cabinet
The case comes standard 2 inch depth. The case dimensions are 18W x 24H. The interior space between the door and the cork board is 1-1/4 inch.
Origins of the name shadow box
Military shadow boxes were originally simple boxes in which sailors retiring from shipboard service carried their belongings ashore. Superstition held that if the sailor's shadow touched shore before he set foot upon it that he would suffer ill luck. By carrying his belongings, a metaphorical shadow of himself, enclosed within the box he could ensure he would touch land before his shadow.
