They're still sticking
 By  from Noank, CT
This is a historic sloop replica and your company had the best prices, the most suitable fonts, and the most variety regarding font size and letter spacing. After I got the letters on (4" and 2") they stuck well and have survived several rainstorms and heavy seas. So far so good! However, the written instructions were as confusing as any I have ever read, and even after the rep talked me through it, I ended up transferring the letters the "intuitive" way. You need to simplify the instructions.

Usually I have a hard time with the application of stickers or some other adhesive lettering. These were pretty much fool proof. I labeled some big cannisters for "garbage" and "recycles" and they look amazing

We used the numbers to mark the building numbers on our storage units. We also ordered letters to mark the entrance and exit for each building. Great product! Delivery was prompt, the item arrived in perfect condition. We also had the item mirror cut which was no problem with the company, communication was easy.

I ordered these numbers to use on mirrors for table numbers at my daughter's wedding. The price was better than any others we shopped. They look awesome on the mirror tiles. I love that they are available in different fonts and also that they are so easy to apply! My delivery arrived very quickly, but one of the numbers was damaged. I emailed Alphabet Signs and received a response within 24 hours. The replacement arrived within 3 days of my original order. Great customer service!

Good product
 By  from Huntington Beach, CA
I'm using my letters for a sign on a store window. Very easy to apply (except doesn't seem re-appliable), and very easy for people to see. I ordered mirror cut (or so I thought) but when it was delivered it was regular print. I called & they sent out the corrected one no charge & I received in about a week. It was great!

Solved My Problem Inexpensively
 By  from Tyler, Texas
Moved my business location so the address and phone number on my sign was no longer applicable. I wanted to update the information on my sign as inexpensively as possible and found Alphabet Signs on line. They offered what I was looking for. I received the lettering soon after I ordered it. Was very simple to install.

Exactly what I ordered!
 By  from Dallas, tx
The product was great, it was easy to apply and I recieved it 2 days after I ordered it, faster than I expected!!! I very satisfied with the letters, the only thing. I have to say semi bad...(on my part) is I wish I would have gotten smaller letters..maybe 3in...just make sure you measure your window or whatever Space your applying the letters, other than that, I'm a happy customer. I have friends asking if I can order them some:)

Product Description

Same vinyl lettering used by the pros

We offer custom vinyl letters that you can apply to cars, boat, truck graphics, windows, signs, banners, walls or virtually any smooth surface. It is the same vinyl letter material that your local sign shop uses to make decals and stickers. Our vinyl lettering comes with an 8 year guarantee and is an easy do it yourself lettering install.

How to install vinyl stickers

Vinyl stickers come pre-spaced on a wax liner. Installing custom decals is 4 step process but basically you just peel and paste to apply. A squeegee applicator included with each order. First clean the surface you are applying the vinyl sign letters to. It needs to be a smooth non-porous surface. Second, tape the vinyl decal along one side. Third, flip over the decal and remove was liner. And lastly, squeegee decal and remove transfer tape.

How vinyl letters are made

Standard self-adhesive vinyl sticker letters are precision cut on a computer driven plotter. The custom vinyl lettering is available in 21 colors and 24 type styles. After the computer cuts the vinyl lettering, we weed out any excess material and apply a transfer tape. The transfer tape holds the vinyl letters in place when you apply them. We do not charge extra for the weeding or taping.

Standard vinyl lettering material is made at a factory from a calendered process. This technique makes the rolls of vinyls relatively inexpensive because of greater production yields. The standard vinyl is thicker which makes it easier to handle when applying and more resistant to abrasion. But when standard vinyl is exposed to heat the film will have a tendency to shrink or pull back towards its original form. That's why it shrinks after 8 years.

How to Apply Vinyl Lettering: So Simple They'd Thought A Pro Did It!

When business owners purchase vinyl letter for their companies, many are left wondering how to properly apply the custom decal to a chosen surface. The process begins with preparing the area.

1. Clean surface

Clean surface

It is important to wipe the surface clean with a n alcohol based cleaner to get rid of any harmful material that may be in place. The room temperature be between 45° and 90° Fahrenheit before beginning the process. The site where the vinyl lettering will go should not be too humid, as it can negatively affect the procedure.

2. Tape decal along top

The next step after the surface is properly prepared is to apply a strip of masking tape on top of the custom vinyl graphic. This will make sure that the sign stays in place.

3. Remove wax liner

Remove wax liner

The following step is to remove the wax liner by flipping over the decal and holding the bottom edge of the graphic away from the surface in order to expose the sticky vinyl backing.

4. Squeegee decal

Then, use a squeegee to press the vinyl letters on the area where it will appear, going from top to bottom like a windshield wiper blade. Careful not to trap any pockets of air that will create bubbles in the vinyl decal.

5. Remove transfer tape

Remove transfer tape

After removing the top paper layer, the vinyl letters will appear in place. The sign will serve as a way for customers to see either a product or your company's name on an ongoing and permanent basis. Vinyl signs can be a great way to make a permanent mark in a community.

typography alphabet

The font has been carefully designed to allow a viewer's eye to easily see the shape of each character. Not each character in a font is exactly the same size; otherwise your sign lettering would be difficult to read. We name the font after its uppercase letter 'A' size but most lowercase letters are shorter. Some lowercase letter shapes such as 'b d f h k l' have ascenders which can be taller than the uppercase 'A' height. Some lowercase letters such as 'g j p q y' have descenders which go below the words baseline. Uppercase letters that are rounded such as 'C G J O Q S U' are taller than an uppercase 'A' because the rounded part extends above and below the baseline. Please call us if you need to know the character's actual size and not its named size. Back to Top...
