High density polyethylene (H.D.P.E.) is maintenance free.

High density polyethylene is a maintenance free material that will not rot, splinter or crack. The plastic material is non-porous so it will not absorb stains or water. This makes them able to resist salt, gas, oil, water and bird droppings. It is also termite and mold proof. The plastic is pigmented all the way through so the color does not fade in sunlight. High Density Polyethylene is often specified by architects and government agencies due to its long lasting, maintenance free properties. The case is held together with fasteners and because the material is high density its screw retention is 30% greater than ordinary lumber. The finished back panel looks great on posts and adds structural integrity to the cabinet. Two moisture drip holes are drilled through the base of the cabinet.

Bulletin Board

A bulletin board is included inside the cabinet. It is a thick self sealing natural cork surface laminated to 5/8 inch fiberboard and wrapped with satin anodized aluminum frame. The bulletin board is attached with screws and is easily replaceable if necessary.

Shatter resistant acrylic window

The door includes solid disc tumbler locks to protect against vandalism while controlling access to posting surface. The locking mechanism is clipped in place. Two keys are included. The door frame holds a durable, 1/8 inch shatter-resistant acrylic window so messages can be seen but not touched. The window frame sits in a recessed channel and fastened in place with door trim. This makes the window replaceable if vandalized.

Full length piano hinge

This one door unit is mounted with full-length piano hinge. The case dimensions are 18W x 18H and 5-1/2 inch exterior depth, 8-1/2 inch rain cover depth. The main case frame is 3/4 inch wide and the door frame is 1-1/2 inch. This reduces the visible area to 13.5W x 13.5H. The interior space between the door and the cork board is 3-3/4 inch.

The freight cost is additional and typically adds 10% to the cost of the order plus $5.00 boxing and handling fee.
